The Ascending
Ascending Mount Teide is a once-in-a-lifetime adventure, an essential experience during your vacation in Tenerife.
Our Mount Teide Tour with Cable Car offers the opportunity to fulfill your dream of reaching a height of 3,718 meters.
The journey involves a cable car ride and a subsequent one-hour walk, tracing the volcano's last thousand years of history. The cable car's upper station, located at La Rambleta crater, which is significantly larger than the current crater, marks a pivotal point in Teide's history. About a thousand years ago, the volcano erupted, raising its height to 3,718 meters and forming the present Pico del Teide. This eruption also created the distinctive black lava streams on its slopes.
Reaching the crater
You will feel as if you have landed on Mars. Below lies Tenerife, with the nearby islands of Gran Canaria, El Hierro, La Gomera, and La Palma seemingly within reach. The pervasive smell of sulphur and the heat from the vents might conjure images of Guayota, the mythical evil entity of the ancient Guanches, possibly still lurking in a volcanic cavern... Though legend has it, he's in a deep slumber!
Achieve the summit of Mount Teide and realize your dream. Dreams remain just that until you take the step to make them a reality.

- It is necessary to contact BOGOWI's reservations team to set a date and time for your visit, as well as to clarify the pickup point.
- Please note that your booking for the "Ascent to Teide by Cable Car" activity can only be confirmed once we have successfully issued a crater access pass under your name. If we are unable to secure your reservation, we will propose an alternate date or provide a refund of the amount paid.
- Due to the operational procedures of the National Park’s permit system, once your booking for this activity is confirmed by us, it cannot be canceled under any circumstances.
- You are required to show your ID or passport at the trail entrance leading to the crater.
- In cases where the path to the peak is closed, access may be granted exclusively to certified mountaineers who can demonstrate their expertise and are properly equipped with mountain-climbing gear, including boots, crampons, and an ice-axe. It is the individual's responsibility to carry the correct documentation and equipment. The absence of these items absolves BOGOWI of any responsibility.
- The hike to the peak is about two hours for both ascent and descent and is classified as highly challenging. A good level of physical fitness is essential for participants. If the guide determines that your fitness level is insufficient for the activity, in the interest of your safety, they may request that you leave the trail or the activity.

- It is essential to bear in mind that in the event of the failure of the cable car system due to unexpected technical reasons, passengers already at the upper station will have to make their descent on foot and using steep mountain paths.
- Pets are not allowed.
If weather conditions mean that the cable car is not operating when the ‘Climbing the Teide Crater with the help of the Cable Car’ excursion is due to take place, a visit to the National Park with an alternative trail will be held instead. Customers will be refunded the price difference between the ‘Teide Tour without Cable Car’ and the ‘Climbing to Mount Teide Crater with Cable Car’ excursions, i.e., €39 per adult and €19.50 per child shall be charged.
In the event that the cable car is open but the trail used to reach the peak remains closed by Teide National Park staff, the cable car will be used to ascend to La Rambleta and then follow an alternative trail. Should this occur, the price difference between the ‘Teide Tour and cable car ride’ and the ‘Climbing the Teide Crater with the help of the Cable Car’ excursions shall be reimbursed, i.e., €74 per adult and €37 per child shall be charged.
Since this activity includes a permit to access the crater, we do not admit changes or cancellations once the reservation is confirmed. This is due to the way the National Park’s permit issuing system works.
